How often does emergency and exit lighting have to be tested?
There are 2 standard tests. A short function test every month confirms each unit switches to battery and the lamps light, and once a year the units have to run a full 90 minute discharge test to prove the batteries still hold. Both tests have to be documented and kept on site. We run them on schedule and leave the written record with your facility team.
What does emergency exit lighting installation in Indianapolis cost?
It depends on fixture count and access. Replacing batteries and heads on existing units is a service call. A full layout for a warehouse or a new tenant space means new fixtures, new circuits and conduit, which is a project. Ceiling height, lift access and whether the work has to happen after hours all move the price. We count fixtures on site and quote in writing.
Where are exit signs and emergency lights actually required?
Exit signs go at every required exit and along the route to it, wherever the way out is not immediately obvious. Can you fix a fire inspection violation quickly?
Yes. Send us the inspection report and we price the punch list directly off it. Dead batteries, dark signs, missing heads and wrong arrow direction are usually fixed in a single visit once we have the parts on the truck. Larger coverage gaps need new fixtures and circuits, and we schedule that work around your operating hours so the space stays open.
Should we repair the old units or replace them?
It depends on the housing, not the age alone. If the fixture is solid and parts are still available, a new battery and lamp head is the cheaper fix and we handle it during the same visit. Once a unit has corroded contacts, a cracked housing or no replacement parts, replacing it beats paying for the repeat service calls. Self testing LED units also cut the monthly test labor.
