Warehouses and Distribution Centers
Dock doors, conveyors, inventory servers and freezer loads stay live
LED Indy installs standby generators for Indianapolis plants, clinics, data rooms and distribution centers. We handle the load calculation, transfer switch, conduit, permits and factory startup on a single contract.
Load Sizing Done Right
We size the unit to your real building load
Transfer Switch Work
Automatic and manual transfer switches wired and tested
Permits and Inspection
We pull permits and meet the inspector on site
Emergency Circuits Mapped
Life safety loads separated the way code requires
Licensed Commercial Crew
Licensed and insured electricians from trench to startup
Every generator project is different, but the work breaks into the same set of steps we run on every Indianapolis site.
Load Study and Sizing
We measure what the building actually draws, then size the generator to carry the loads you name instead of guessing from square footage.
Learn moreTransfer Switch Installation
Automatic transfer switches, service entrance rated gear and manual switches, wired, programmed and tested so the changeover happens without anyone walking to a panel.
Learn morePad, Conduit and Feeders
Concrete pad layout, underground conduit, feeder pulls and grounding, coordinated with your site work so the generator lands where it will not block operations.
Learn moreEmergency and Standby Separation
Life safety, legally required standby and optional standby loads belong on separate systems. We lay the panels and feeders out the way NEC Article 700 expects.
Learn morePermits and Coordination
We pull the electrical permit, coordinate with the gas or fuel contractor and the utility, and schedule inspection so commissioning is not held up.
Learn moreStartup and Service
We are on site for factory startup and load testing, then handle the service calls, breaker work and panel changes the generator feeds after it goes live.

Standby power is not a nice to have in these buildings. It is the difference between a shift running and a shift stopping.

Generator installation sits inside our electrical division, not beside it. The same licensed crew that walks your building is the crew that does the work, and lighting and low voltage are in house if the job turns out to touch them.
Commercial Only
We do not run house calls. Every crew, truck and stocked part is set up for commercial buildings and commercial gear.
Indianapolis Owned
Indianapolis owned and operated, so the same people who quoted the job are the ones who answer when it matters.
Licensed and Insured
Licensed and insured electricians, with the permit and inspection paperwork handled by us instead of landing on your desk.
3 Divisions, 1 Call
Lighting, electrical, and data and low voltage under a single roof, so generator work does not stall waiting on another trade.
We Work Around Your Building
Nights, weekends, shutdowns and school breaks. We agree the access and outage windows with you before the generator installation work starts, so your tenants and your production schedule are not the ones absorbing it.
Proven on Commercial Projects
Our completed work includes the Colts Practice Facility, Langham Logistics, NIFS and the Vigo County jail. The same crews handle generator installation for buildings across Indianapolis.
Our job is simple: deliver safe, reliable electrical systems so you can run your business.
From sports facilities and warehouses to aquatic centers and retail floors, these are buildings we have already relit and rewired across central Indiana.

Straight answers to the questions we hear most, so you can plan with confidence.
Most of the schedule is equipment lead time, not labor. Once the generator and transfer switch arrive, the pad, conduit, feeders and switch work usually run in a matter of days on a typical Indianapolis site, followed by inspection and factory startup. We give you a dated schedule at quote so you can plan the shutdown window around it.
Size is the biggest driver, and size comes from the loads you choose to back up. After that it is fuel type, how far the generator sits from the service, whether the transfer switch is service entrance rated, site work for the pad, and whether the existing panels can be split into emergency and standby sections without a full rebuild.
Yes. Commercial generator work needs an electrical permit and an inspection, and gas or fuel piping is permitted separately. We pull the electrical permit, build the job to the code the inspector will check, and meet them on site. You do not have to chase the paperwork or schedule the visit yourself.
Usually most of it, yes. Pad work, conduit, feeder pulls and mounting the transfer switch all happen while you keep operating. The tie in at the service is the part that needs power off, and that window is short. We schedule it for a night or a weekend so your crew never loses a working shift.
We can, and a standby generator does need regular exercise and testing to be worth having. After factory startup we walk your team through the run schedule, then service the set on a cycle you pick: load testing, transfer switch operation, battery, fuel and connection checks, with a written record of each visit. You can also keep that with your own maintenance vendor.
Can't say enough good things about John and his LED Indy team. They take the time to educate their clients on the process and value of switching to LED fixtures. They are professional, honest and do great work! Highly recommend them!
Jon and the team at LED Indy were absolutely amazing! They handled every step of my industrial shop conversion quickly and professionally. It's also great to know I'm saving money on my energy bill too! I highly recommend them!
We have several manufacturing facilities that have a combination of manufacturing floor, warehouse, and office space, and LED Indy has been a great partner to help us plan and implement changes when needed. I'd highly recommend their team.
The transformation of the lighting upgrade was literally night and day. The result was better than we could have expected.
